Starting stuff

As it hits February people seem to be moving from the “What will we do this year” to the “Let’s start doing it” mode of thinking.

Today I’ve facilitated discussions about starting a uni news website (what a uni paper would be, minus the cost of printing!) and written a factsheet on how to fundraise for Reach Out. One of the reasons I started this blog was to highlight how to start things and then the next step of course being how to sustain them.

What are some of the best resources you’ve discovered for starting something new? I’m trying to keep a list of resources on my links down the side, would love to hear from your experiences what has helped you.

Oooh and of course, I’d also love to know what projects you’ve got on the go in 2009! I’m a very curious cat in that sense…

A great and free tool for new businesses or not-for-profits is Zoho’s invoicing tool. I find it really easy to use and if setup correctly it’s fully automated and saves a lot of admin time!

Great for selling tickets to events also! 😀
